Faux Silk Abundant Hope

Here's another one of the cards we made at Saturday's class. I copied it 100% from a swap card I got from Cheryl Camp. I love the simplicity of the layout and the Faux Silk technique on the lowers was a hit with the stampers who came to my class!

The Faux Silk technique is easy! First, stamp your image on tissue paper and color in as desired. Let the ink dry. Then crumple up the tissue paper in to a ball and straighten back out: the more wrinkles, the better! Cover your small piece of cardstock completely with Anywhere Glue Stick (#104045, $3.95 for 2). Lay the tissue paper over the cardstock and push down to adhere it to the glue. Don't smooth it too much; again, the more wrinkles, the better! Trim the extra tissue paper from the edge and layer the cardstock on a coordinating color. That's it! Easy peasy!

People ask me all the time how I come up with ideas for my projects. You don't have to be a creative genius to be a demonstrator! One of the things I love most about getting together with other demonstrators at Stampin' Up! events or group meetings is the opportunity to swap card ideas. Not to mention the thousands of ideas that are available to browse on the brand-new demonstrator-only community Stampin' Connection. I copy with the best of them! If that's the only thing holding you back, hang up your creative fears and come join my group during this awesome Sale-a-bration sign-up special. Click here for details.

What kind/brand of tissue paper do you use? Do you stamp on the smoothest side? I need to try this and you have done the best job teaching me about it. Thanks.
